Description
The Wildwood Food Service Assistants work closely with the Food Service Director in the overall food-service operation of camp including food preparation, nutrition, sanitation, and customer service. Top candidates will foster enthusiasm in the kitchen, have a desire to learn, align with the values of Wildwood and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the daily operations of planning and preparation of nutritionally balanced camp meals, snacks and pack-out food
- Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation and safety in dining hall
- Ensure safe and efficient preparation and serving of camp meals
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Job Competencies
- Knowledge of current health and safety laws and practices
- Knowledge of and experience in preparation of special dietary foods
- Knowledge of sanitation practices
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Physical Demands
- Standing, pushing, pulling, grasping, squatting, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in institutional or large food service setting
- Knowledge of and experience in food preparation, family-style serving and institutional kitchen equipment
